Stock counts

Count stock with your phone or a scanner, together with colleagues, see the differences, and post the count to correct stock.

A stock count lets you count what's really on the shelf and compare it with the system. When you post the count, Mobilat corrects the balance of the items you counted, and only those.

Where to find it

From the menu: Stock → Stock counts, or from the Stock page with the Count button.

Counts need the Run stock counts permission. Without it you see You can't do stock counts.

Start a count

New count

Tap New count.

Name it (optional)

Enter a Name (optional), for example Cases shelf, or month-end count.

Start

Tap Start counting. The count is for the branch you have open.

A count stays In progress until you post or cancel it. You can leave and come back to it later from the In progress list.

Count with a scanner

At the top of the count you pick how to count:

  • Each scan +1: every time you scan an item (scanner or camera) its count goes up by one. Just scan every piece on the shelf.
  • Type the count: scan or search an item, then type the full count at once.

After each scan you see the Last item with its Expected and Diff. You can edit any count on its line, or remove an item from the count.

Counting one shelf? Pick its category from All categories (pick one to count a shelf). When the shelf is done and some items weren't counted because they really aren't there, tap Mark as zero.

Bundles aren't counted because they have no stock of their own. Count their items.

Count together

Several people can count in the same count at the same time, each on their own phone. Tap the link icon (Copy link) and send it to a colleague. You see Counting together now, and Live activity shows who counted what. Each item also shows who counted it last.

Differences

At the top you see Counted (number of items), With diff, and Over / short. If you can see cost, Difference at cost shows the value, using the average cost.

Switch between:

  • Counted: every item you've counted.
  • With diff: items whose count is different from Expected.
  • Not counted: items in the system that nobody has counted.

Post the count

Post count

When you're done, tap Post count.

Review

You see Items counted, Will be corrected, Over, Short, and Value if you can see cost.

Confirm

Tap Yes, post and correct.

What happens when you post:

  • Only counted items are corrected. Anything you didn't count stays unchanged.
  • Expected is taken at posting time, so sales during the count are handled.
  • Each difference is recorded as a Count correction in stock movements. On a posted count, tap View corrections to see them.

A posted count can't be reopened. If something was wrong after posting, fix it with an adjustment.

Cancel a count

While the count is in progress, tap Cancel at the top, then Cancel count. Stock won't change and the counted lines are discarded.
